WARNING!
DON'T MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE I DID!

Do not make your doors until all of the welding on your fuselage frame is complete.
Every weld you make distorts the fuselage ever so slightly. Add all of those up and a bunch of "slightly"s turn into one big "noticeable". After I built my doors, I welded the tabs to hold the floor panels. By the time I was done, the frame had shifted enough that the door latches wouldn't go in their holes. That's even after the fuselage frame was finish welded. The latches were about 1/8" off--pretty big when you're talking a 1/4" rod.

I took the doors off, waited until all of the welding was done on the fuselage, then welded holes shut and re-drilled the door hinges so that they would fit again.

Just in case you're wondering, I understand AviPro builds the complete fuselage in the jig, pulls it out of the jig, finishes the welding, THEN custom builds the doors to each fuselage.

YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!
