The Tail surfaces are all welded tube covered with fabric. The ribs are called T-25 ribs and are formed from 4130 steel sheet. There are 2 horizontal stabilizers (left and right) and 2 elevators (left and right) and a rudder.  The elevators have trim tabs that are driven by a bellcrank at the fuselage center.  The Elevators are counter-weighted and balanced.  The vertical stabilizer is built in conjunction with the fuselage.

This section will initially cover the building of the Vertical & Horizontal Stabilizers, Elevators, Trim Tabs and Rudder.  The Tailwheel construction is covered in the Fuselage section.
